Run Your Own Damn Race

DSC_7653-Edit

How fast can I run a 5k, you ask.

How many push-ups can I do, you ask.

How much can you bench, you ask.

Stop looking over your shoulder.

Out of focus, you'll trip.

I'm right there behind you.

Or maybe I am ahead.

Run forward.

Look forward.

Think forward.

What is YOUR pace?

What is YOUR place?

What will YOU do today? Tomorrow? A week from now?

When I drop dead, or

less likely, die peacefully in my sleep,

I'll know.

I'll know I ran my own damn race.

I'll know I lived my own damn life.

What about you?
