Hi, friend.
So…. 2017, amirite?
2017 was… hard.
It was hard, and different, and hard. I feel like I have been in hiding for a good chunk of the year, and I am only crawling out now. Hi!
This year, I feel a shift coming on. Many shifts, in fact. Snake skins are falling off, and it’s scary, and new, and weird.
The word for 2018 is REINVENT.
The dictionary (because I am a dork) defines “reinvent” as: Changing something so much that it appears to be entirely new, and/or Take up a very different job or way or life.
Phewwww… I hope to tell you more in my 2018 preview blog post, but for now, I can tell you that ONE big thing that I am doing differently this year is setting fewer goals. Crazy, right?
I’d love for you to join me – if there were only THREE things you could accomplish this year, what would they be?
For me: Re-design/launch my new website (it’s time!) Pursue a creative endeavour or two (ok, ok, just one!) Finish and launch my first book
Everything else can burn in a fire.
But wait, what’s this book thing?
Last week, I finished the first draft of my first book (part of the reason I was in hiding). That’s a big deal. It feels like a big deal. I am setting it aside for just a bit, and then editing, and re-editing. Once it’s available, you will be the first to know. I promise.
Want to know the title?
Of course, you do. Drum roll, please?
“Half Pregnant: Essays About Miscarriage, Maternity Bras, Sharks And Other Things Dark, Hilarious And Universal”.
It will be a fun read. You’ll see! And, by now, you should know that I have a very twisted definition of fun.
I am back.
I have missed you.
Hugs, SOLO
